There are five natural regions in Colombia with unequal

national parks found in all corners of the country.

North Coast
Cartagena de Indias: It is the Colombian city
that better preserves the colonial architecture and monuments. It is a city
that from its beginning till now has notably influenced events in Colombia.
One of the most poignant characteristics of Cartagena de Indias is its architecture; appreciated in its civil, military and religious edifications;
constructions that allow to identify the historic maturity of the city.
Santa Marta: the first city founded in Colombia, it is a tourist, historical and cultural district. In Santa Marta you can visit
the Fifth of San Pedro of Alejandrino, the house of liberator Simon Bolivar, the
Mountain Range Nevada de Santa Marta, the park of the Mountain Range Nevada de
Santa Marta, The Lost City (UNESCO¡¯s Patrimony of Humanity), as well as the
National Natural Park of Tayrona.
Barranquilla: it is the biggest city of the region
and famous for its Carnival. It has tourist attractions such as the Mouths of
Ashes (where the Magdalena river and the Caribbean Sea meet), the Zoo (the first
Zoo inaugurated in Latin America), the Pumarejo Bridge (the longest in
Colombia), the Metropolitan Stadium (the biggest in Colombia), the Wharf of
Colombia¡¯s port (the longest in the world at its inauguration in 1888), The
Totumo Volcano (45 minutes from Barranquilla), Amira de la Rosa Play House, the
Romantic Museum, The Prado Hotel (first hotel in Latin America)
Pacific Region
The Solano Bay, at the Choco, is the main tourist
destination in the Colombian Pacific.
Andean Region
This is the region where you can find the main cities of the
country (Bogota, Medellin and Cali). Another important
region in the country is Bucaramanga, the capital of the department of Santander, called the City of the Parks or Beautiful City.
The Eje Cafetero is a part of the Andean region that
has taken a lot of strength in the tourist industry. Among its tourist
attractions are the Coffee National Natural Park, Farming culture National
Park, The Ruiz Nevado, the Cocora Valley, the Nevados National Natural Park, The Eden Reserve, the beautiful Otun Lagoon, the Matecaña Zoo in Pereira, The Santa Rosa de Cabal thermal waters.
Orinoquia: The Colombian Orinoquian plain everyday
takes more importance at the national and international levels. It holds
natural resources, such as gas and petroleum.
In Orinoquia one can find the Colombian and Venezuelan
Plains, one of its major attractions is the city of Villavicencio, in the
outskirts IS Restrepo that is famous for its rice brads, there is also Acacias
with Puerto Lopez which has the biggest obelisks in the country.
The Amazons: the majority of the population is
indigenous, from various communities, among them are the Nukaks, still
nomads, and the Huitotos, Yaguas, Tucanos, Ticunas, Camsas and Ingas.
