CASA has the ability to take immigration cases and represent individuals before the Immigration Court and the Department of Homeland Security with the help of a full-time, in-house attorney. CASA’s legal representation service is affordable legal assistance in action, protecting day by day the legal rights of thousands of immigrant families that have come to settle in our diverse metropolitan community.
- In order to be eligible for a consultation with our attorney, your court hearing appointment should be at least 30 days after your appointment at C.A.S.A. This allows the attorney to properly assess and prepare the case.
- For an appointment, please call 305-448-2272 Ext. 101 and ask for an appointment with the CASA Attorney. Make sure that you emphasize that it is primarily for legal representation.
- Bring all immigration and supporting documentation to the consultation with the attorney. If you need to cancel the appointment please call to inform us and to reschedule.
Immigration Assistance service entails the preparation of immigration forms and guidance on the processes. This assistance is provided by a group of certified paralegals who count on the support of our team of volunteer attorneys & vast legal resources. This service is made available in all of our branch offices.

CASA provides information and guidance according to the nature of the request. If you are in need of information, you are invited to come to our offices and speak to a case manager that will guide you in the areas of immigration, affordable housing, education, government programs, health education, and small business development, revalidation of foreign credentials and professions.

This service provides short and long term comprehensive solutions to low income families, single parents, the elderly and domestic violence victims by providing them with case management and counseling, information and agency referral, legal counseling, support groups and emergency crisis intervention. These services are complimented with our food distribution & nutrition program which helps provide an economic relief to our clients. The program seeks to provide stability, and direct individuals and families toward self-sufficiency.

Promoting economic self-sufficiency among the immigrant community is an integral part of CASA's daily efforts. Our Employment Referral program connects local employers with those in search of employment. Companies and businesses are invited to contact our offices and inform us of their job openings. An announcement is prepared and included in an employment list displayed in our bulletin board found in the main office. Those interested in any of the listings may visit any of our offices to a case manager in order to be referred and given the proper contact information for the desired listing.
To view our job listings, you are welcome to visit our main office located at 8500 SW 8 St Suite 218, Monday--Friday from 10AM-5PM. The employment list is updated on a monthly basis.

The ICARE: Violence Against Women Project, is a project that seeks to reach out to immigrant women who are victims of domestic violence. CASA will provide services to low-income immigrants of all nationalities in Miami-Dade County who are victims of domestic violence and family violence. A client identified as a victim of domestic violence or family violence will be referred to CASA’s attorney for legal counseling. The client will also be referred to a Case Manager to provide an assessment as to the client’s and/or children’s safety, and advise on preparations to leave the abuser. Together the attorney and case manager will assist the client in developing a strategy to seek legal relief from the abuse. Direct linkages to emergency shelters, mental health counseling, basic needs and other resources to begin to develop a safety net will be provided by our partnering agencies.
Once the client is prepared, a meeting with either the staff or volunteer attorney is scheduled to begin the application process for permanent residence under the VAWA Act or to explore other avenues available to legalize their status. Assistance in preparing immigration applications, obtaining restraining orders and reporting abuse will be provided. The client will also be encouraged to participate in CASA’s educational sessions geared towards Family Preservation and Peer Group Networking in order to reduce isolation and alienation.
